A rare talosel resin necklace by French designer Henry Périchon (1910 - 1977) an innovator of designer fantasy jewellery. This amazing vintage necklace is difficult to capture in a photo as the aqua blue is iridescent and changes colour depending on the angle and the light. The colour ranges between a light aqua blue to a light blue green — the colour of water in the tropics.
It is made up of aqua talosel cabochons on the front with a tortoiseshell pattern on the back; following the foil technique developed by Henry, a fine sheet of metal is sandwiched within to reflect light like a mirror. The clasp, with a darling little talosel cabochon at the end, allows for length adjustment and looks very pretty at the back. All cabochons and the brass mounting are handmade (in France). The necklace is light, sits flat, and feels lovely around the neck.
In very good vintage condition, this Henry necklace is a collector's item. It is unsigned but consistent with the works of Henry, era Line Vautrin.
